Armoire

This is a large Armoire made out of Knotty Alder in a style that fits several including Old World Tuscan and Spainish Hacienda. It has been through several phases, starting out as a gun cabinet and half way through, the client decided it needed to be an Armoire... This didn't pose too big of a problem and we were able to switch the interior around to fit the request... The rest of it's journey was in the finishing... The original plan was for a stained finish, and as we began, the decision was made to antique the case... The piece was distressed and the process was begun... To do this right is no easy feat, and it took many layers of different paints and stains, lots of re-sanding, and finally a lacquered top coat... The finish worked very well and gives it a very old look and feel...

The case features an angled front corner, and arched doors with raised panels... The back is v-grooved panels made from solid wood, and the interior shelves are made of Eastern Red Cedar...
